DSHW 001 – INTRODUCTION

The problem of spirit husband and wife has messed up many people and a lot of people are still trapped in it, looking for a way out. This is one of those areas that God allowed me to experience before He began to teach me how to come out of it.

This is in agreement with the word of God;

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. For just as the sufferings of Christ flow over into our lives, so also through Christ our comfort overflows. 2 Cor 1:3-5NIV

I knew very little about spirit spouse before I got married. It is true that I delivered people who were struggling with this monster of a spiritual problem but I was not able to feel or appreciate the battles the victims were fighting until I met those struggles in my wife. It was the weapons and skills I gathered in the battle for my beloved wife that formed a good part of this Lecture.

I must appreciate Evangelist Mike Bamiloye for his Movie, The Captives of the Mighty. I learnt a lot from that too.

It was after years of struggling to assist their victims that the Lord helped me to see that Spirit Spouse is a covenant related problem and that we could save ourselves many battles if we are able to understand the covenant terms that established them. God brought people around on whom I applied those principles which I have learned and it was exciting when they gained their freedom with very little stress. One of them was a lady who lived in the United Kingdom with her husband. The spirit forced her husband to send her back to Nigeria. When I gave them some of the keys I presented here, she recovered and returned to stay with her husband. I also learned not to waste my time and energy on people who are not ready to get involved in getting total deliverance for themselves. So I no longer have people who come around to my center to fall around on every deliverance service.

TRUE LIFE ACCOUNTS OF PEOPLE WHO HAD THIS PROBLEM

The menace of Spirit husband/wife plagues believers and unbelievers, Pastors and members. Many Pastors are currently struggling with having regular sex in the dream with spirit beings. Not a few believing men and women also have this problem. The sufferers of this menace feel polluted and defiled after every such encounters and the worse is when these spirit beings try to control their lives. They always try to assert themselves as the ones in charge of the human beings that are under their control and in most cases demand total control and worship.

Few spiritual problems have messed up the lives of their victims like this case. Like all spiritual problems rooted in covenants, they are very difficult to handle and can only be permanently resolved if the victim is able to discover the covenant codes that brought them in and have those codes terminated.

Spirit husband/wife is a stubborn case and I hope to start with these testimonies to bring more light.

Brother Ben (not real name) grew up like any other young man with an unbeliever father. His mother had died while they were very young. While he was 35years his father died and as their firstborn son he played very active roles in his burial. After two months of the burial he saw a woman in his dream who introduced herself as his father’s spirit wife. She said she was very rich and could help anybody who would submit to her. She told Ben that since his father has died, that he (Ben) will have to take his place as her husband.

Ben rejected this offers on two grounds; his father was poor all his life. How then can this supposing rich woman hold any hope for him? Secondly, something inside of him said a total “NO” to the proposal. The woman tried to appeal to him but he refused to be moved. The woman turned her back and disappeared and Ben awoke from his sleep.

This woman kept visiting Ben in his dream for close to six months at intervals of days but Ben would not be moved. One day she took Ben to her home that was inside the ocean. Ben did not know how he obeyed her. She showed him a lot of beautiful things; cars, houses, jewels and many wonderful things that a man would desire but Ben still said “No”. She sent some strange creatures to torment Ben with things that looked like pinches and scissors. Ben was unyielding.

When she saw that Ben could not be moved, she left him, telling him she will make sure he never amounted to anything in life unless he accepted to marry her. As at the time Ben was talking to me, he was forty-two years and everything he tried failed. Any person who tried to help him eventually had serious problems that discouraged them.

Sister Regal (not real name) was the beautiful wife of a police man. Though married with children, a man in the neighborhood kept pestering her for sex until she gave in to him. And her problem started. Anytime she would want to stay near her husband, this man she had slept with physically would appear as a spirit being to stand between them. If her husband asked for a cup of water, this spirit being would knock the cup out of her hand.

Every night this spirit would come and have sex with her. The thing began to worry her. Somebody introduced this woman to our ministry. I prayed for her and for about two months the spirit person did not visit and I told her to confess to her husband, so that he can forgive her but she refused. The spirit later came back and her mother took her to the village. I heard her case is getting worse daily.

Brother Gender (not real name) is a family friend whom we have been trying to lead to the Lord. He came to our Miracle Service captioned “Just a Night in God’s Presence” and related a terrifying story. He had followed a girl to her house hoping to pass the night with her. The girl, a beautiful girl had tried to dissuade him but he was adamant. On that night he noticed the girl making movements that suggested she was having sex with somebody else. He acted as if he was sleeping but was watching. After everything, she told him that she had a spirit husband and that was why she could not keep any relationship with a man. She would want to marry but this spirit man would frustrate any such move.

The case of my wife is a long one but I will try to be brief. I met her as a believer and an intercessor in her church and the evangelistic ministry headed by Dr. B.C.  Mbata of the Total Care Ministries. The prayer teams we belonged confirmed that we were made for each other. Before now there was no trace she had a spirit husband. Just after she accepted my proposal, she began to see me in the dream having sex with so many women at the same time. At other times she would see me revealed to her that I will not make it in ministry. Because of this she withdrew as she did not want to marry against God’s will.

She went to a Night Vigil and a man of God who neither knew her nor have heard our story, told her to return to me as I was God’s man for her, identifying what she saw as a familiar spirit husband. She came back but crisis started from all over; from her parents’ side, her church, and fellowship. It was trouble all over. Space will fail me to tell all we went through before we wedded.

After our wedding a woman appeared to her in the dream and asked her why she chose to submit to a man rather than to her. My wife told her I was her rightful husband and she was right to submit to me. The bulk of this story I leave for a bigger book but if not for God’s mercy she would have died on her first delivery. There was a time she was so sick I prayed to God to take her and allow her soul find rest in him. Thank God she is okay today and serving God with me.

WHAT IS SPIRIT HUSBAND AND WIFE?

In theology this area of study is unique in that it is the only field of spiritual challenges that I know that occupies three principal areas of conflicts with the victims. They fall between Demonology and Spiritual warfare. Demonology is the study of demons and their activities as they possess human beings whereas spiritual warfare is the study of activities of spiritual battles that may not necessarily have to do with demon possession; the conflict of spirits in the heavens, on earth, in the sea or land; somewhere outside the human body. The third place it occupies is one of the most difficult cases in deliverance and spiritual warfare which is Covenants and Curses

Let me explain further; when we discuss demons, we talk about them occupying human bodies and using same to express themselves. These demons can cause sickness, mental imbalance, depression, addiction, obsession, all manner of frustration, etc. this is because they are resident in the human body and tries to control the soul. When we talk about spiritual warfare, we are talking about conflicts with evil spiritual forces that are outside the human body. My observation in dealing with spirit spouse is that, at times one will notice that even though the spirit claiming to be married to the human being is coming from the outside, you still have to cast out something from the victim. And because it is a spiritual entity, it can react as a person, invoke the terms of a covenant while releasing and enforcing curses.

The stories we told earlier would have given you some idea of what we are trying to explain here. Demons are spirits without material body; man has spirit with soul but he has the body as his clothing. This means that the real you, is not the body we see on the outside. The demons and other evil spirits need the human body to do some things and that is why they try to enter human beings. It is difficult to explain the science of demons getting married to human beings but somehow these demons or spirits gain power to have sex with humans and claim ownership over them as a spouse which results in reproducing children. Those who have had this kind of problems will tell the kind of stories we read earlier. These spirits are in the realm of spiritual warfare yet some of them possess their victims. In some cases, they plant some things in the body of their victim which allows the human victim to see them, hear them and relate with them through sexual intercourse and serving them as medium.

While discussing this subject in one Methodist Church, an elder in the church shouted out, “Can this really happen?” to his surprise five women all active members of the church confessed that they were having the problem.

This is part of Satan’s program to mess-up God’s creation. They are evil as such a relationship between man and spirit is pervasive. Many of them demand worship. Like mummy-water or queen of the coast. Some traditional deities also marry humans who they leave as shrine prostitutes. Some women married to such deities are free to go out with but cannot marry another man. Some men who have such problem cannot have sex with other women, not because they are impotent but that evil spirit won’t let them. Some of the victims are not free to travel too far from their community or venture into other religions like Christianity. In some cases the victims are not permitted to go to school but must stay in the shrines to serve them as priests. This forms part of the struggle because the human victims will want to exercise their will and move forward in life.

Most men and women in this bondage are very attractive. There are some who do not know they are into it, like my wife. She was actually seeded to this spirit as a baby. The spirit could not have its way because she gave her life to Christ and lived a chaste life. They only got very provoked when she tried to get married.

DOES THIS TEACHING HAVE BIBLICAL BACKING?

Yes, of course. Like I said earlier, it falls into the area of demonology and spiritual warfare. The bible might not have used the very word but we can see indications of such issues as expressed in chapter one.

Now there were seven brothers among us. The first one married and died, and since he had no children, he left his wife to his brother. The same thing happened to the second and third brother, right on down to the seventh.  Finally, the woman died. Now then, at the resurrection, whose wife will she be of the seven, since all of them were married to her?” Matt 22:25-28NIV

The account of the woman in this bible story is not quite different from the stories we read in the first chapter of this book. The family she was married into was doing well until she came in and everything went upside down. Every man that married her died. The Lord Jesus Christ said that ignorance on the part of spiritual leaders at that time contributed to that disaster. I can say the same thing about many Christian leaders today.

After this, Jesus traveled about from one town and village to another, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom of God. The Twelve were with him, and also some women who had been cured of evil spirits and diseases: Mary (called Magdalene) from whom seven demons had come out Luke 8:1-2NIV

If we consider that Mary Magdalene was never reported as married, it will not be out of place to conclude that the demons in her life were responsible for this.

Somebody pointed out to me that The Book of Tobit in the Good News Translation of New Jerusalem Bible mentioned the case of spirit spouse. Even though Tobit is not recognized as inspired book but the mere mention of it shows it is known phenomenon

According to the story I heard, a demon killed them. He doesn’t harm Sarah, but he kills every man who tries to get near her. I am afraid of this demon. I am an only child, and if I were to die, the sorrow would send my parents to their graves. They don’t even have another son to bury them. Tobit 6:14

Let me add that bible authors had focus in their writing which was the messianic message. That was why we were not told what ingredients were used to prepare the food the Lord Jesus Christ ate and the material that was used to build the house He lived. Yet, we learn most of these things through indebt study aided by the Holy Spirit.
